A word from the Founder

Prof L. Lawson

1968 was a decisive year in my life. It was the year my younger brother, who was ill, passed away on the way to the hospital. There was no good explanation for his death, but it helped me make up my mind about what I would do with my life. I had been vacillating between becoming a doctor or a pilot. Both professions were equally appealing to me. However, the unknown cause of my brother’s death; my sensitivity and the desire to lend a helping hand to suffering people won over, and I chose medicine.

Being in private practice I always experience a sense of joy and fulfilment whenever a patient of mine recovers, especially from an acute illness. There have been so many cases, but the most memorable ones are the cases of acute asthmatic attacks, convulsions and most recently tuberculosis, where recovery can be dramatic.

I look forward to seeing Zankli Medical Centre as a one stop centre providing quality medical services to as many Nigerians as possible.
